THE THIRD WINDOW, OPEN TO THE NIGHT

Campfire

A small fire at the edge of the trees: warm light nearby, a wide quiet sky beyond it.

The campfire scene is a change of pace from watching weather through glass. Uneven flames move around crossed logs, a few embers rise and fade, and the clearing stays dark around the fire. It is a simple place to pause for a moment without needing to follow a story.

Open the campfire scene in the listening room. Campfire is available in Keepsakes at no cost; choose it from the shop, then press play when you want the sound.

Three layers around the fire

The mixer changes for this scene. Fire bed brings up a low, even warmth. Ember hush adds a very soft texture, and Night air stays quiet behind both. The sound is generated in the browser; it is intentionally gentle rather than a recording of sharp wood pops.

For a close, warm sound, raise the fire bed a little. For a softer backdrop, lower it and leave just a trace of ember hush and night air. The sliders are independent, so you can find a balance that feels comfortable to you.

The animation and sound are local to the page. You can pause the audio without stopping the scene, or leave the controls alone and simply watch the fire move.

If a steady rain is a better fit, return to Rain on the window. Storm outside is another option in the scene guide.
